What can I do right now?
This is the question echoing around the country without any response from leadership. The good news is that we are Americans, and as such we are free to speak our minds and stand up for what’s right.
While the resistance flag is not an activist organization in itself, we are also desperately trying to figure out what to do ourselves, and will accordingly be constantly updating this page with a list of suggested actions, links to organizations with better planned actions than we can provide, and hopefully a developing network to share and coordinate resistance across the country.
For now, we suggest you do the following:
- Expand your news sources. Mainstream media has mostly surrendered the responsibility of the free press to hold power accountable. Luckily, there are independent journalists across the political spectrum stepping up to fill the void and more respected mainstream media figures quitting and joining their ranks every day. Get on Substack and YouTube. Look for articles from independent media groups like The Contrarian, The Bulwark, and MeidasTouch Network, just to name a few. Seek out the truth, it will not be handed to you.
- Diversify your social media and communications. With the disturbing and increasing corrupt connectivity between social media and technology corporations and government, it is prudent to find your contacts on alternate social media platforms like BlueSky, Pixelfed, Mastodon, and others. You should also consider message encryption apps for text messaging.
- Contact your legislators and other elected authorities, like your local law enforcement, election boards, or city hall. There is a disgusting lack of courage on display from opposition political leadership, so demand they do what they were elected to do. Ask how your state and local authorities plan to work with federal agencies.
- Get involved in your local elections. Sign up to work the 2026 polls right now, so that we can collectively protect and exercise our most sacred civic duty, voting.
- Find organizations that work on issues you care about that might be under attack during the current regime and volunteer to help. There are many groups across the country planning direct actions to halt the drastic damage being done who need volunteers. We are working to compile a list of links to such organizations in the near future, but there’s no time like the present to get to work yourself.
- AND REMEMBER, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
